Some people ask me: Marita, what exactly is the difference between a vision Board and a collage? For me the difference is: a collage is more of an art medium, so when I make collages it is purely aesthetic, only the visual is important and I use very few words on it. I might do a composition of photo images, magazine clippings, drawing and or painting. When working on a collage I do not prepare, it’s a pure creative meditation.
When I make a vision board the visuals are important too, but the most important aspect is my intention. I ask myself the question what do I want to achieve with this vision board? What is the next goal? I normally keep notes in my vision board journal, which is designated to my vision boards. This journal is very special, it’s a record of every new idea, things I want, concepts I create for my life and work. Sometimes I have great ideas pop up when I’m walking or driving, for those moments I use a very simple voice recorder and I keep notes and later transfer them into my vision board journal. The collage above is a creative meditation reminding me to have fun to be playful and to always see the magic in life, as soon as I look at it, I take a breath and get into the flow.
